CREATING A MOVEMENT

We are all about approaching advocacy differently. Using out of the box tactics to break out of the typical conservation eco chamber and raise awareness, we've used a number of creative partnerships and tactics. Below are some highlights of what we've done so far.

Letter Writing Campaign

Hundreds of students nationwide have written letters and postcards to President Biden calling for the relisting of gray wolves. We started this initiative in June of 2022 and have introduced wolf advocacy to hundreds of kids. Download a printable version of the children’s postcard (Version 1, Version 2) or our letter-writing guide for older kids interested in joining the pack!

Wildpostings

Our campaign has hit the streets with eye-catching wild postings in major cities across the U.S. These posters have sparked curiosity and started conversations in urban areas, drawing attention to the issue.

Pothole Art in D.C.

In September 2022, we partnered with artist Jim Bachor to turn a number of existing potholes in DC into mosaic art pieces that call for relisting. Not only did the potholes spark conversations in neighborhoods near the White House, Congress, and the Department of Interior, they also received national press coverage.

Conferences & Events

Our campaign collaborates with local and national businesses, as well as events across the country, to raise awareness and spread the word to those who may not otherwise have knowledge of the issue.

ADVANCING SCIENCE

Check out this peer-reviewed paper authored by Kareiva and other conservationists, including our campaign cofounder, Samantha Attwood. The paper explores issues such as poor data transparency from state agencies, under-reporting, and poaching, showing that we do not truly know how many wolves have been killed since the aggressive hunts began in the Northern Rockies. It highlights the use of inadequate scientific data in developing wolf management plans.

PARTNERSHIPS

Jason Momoa PSA

In November, 2021, we partnered with Jason Momoa and Sender Films to make a short video, “Raise Your Voice.” Reaching over 2.4 million people, the video drew global attention to our cause and brought our message to a whole new audience of dog lovers. Check out the video here!

Rewriting Extinction Comics

To reach outside of the typical wolves and animal activists ecosystem, in May, 2022 & November, 2023 we partnered with Rewriting Earth, Safely Endangered, and Wawawiwa, famous comic book artists known for their thoughtful and clever depictions of wildlife, to create a series of wolf related comics which were viewed over 3 million times across social media.
